100 places to see before you die....

Actually I have the book 1,000 places to see before you die and the book 1,000 foods to eat before you die, or something like that. I have said before that I'm a sucker for a list. Anyway Anita-Clare Field posted this site http://www.listchallengeapp.com/travellistchallenge/ to my FB wall and I was intrigued.

Sagrada Familia, Barcelona

It's a site that lists, what they believe, are the 100 places that you should see before you die. There's a little box beside each place which you tick. At the end you can compare your list with those of your friends, who have used the site as well.

Vernazza Cinque Terre

I ticked 35 places. Many I haven't been to in a long time and others I have been to many times, simply because of location and the location of family and friends, such as, Niagara Falls - about 2.5 hours away on a good day and Edinburgh Castle because my relatives live in Edinburgh.

The pictures are of two of the places on the list that I happened to have pictures for on this computer. Fortunately my husband loves to travel and I could go anywhere at the drop of a hat. Many of the places I went to a long time ago were done on a shoestring, so to speak. I spent a good deal of time hitch-hiking around Europe years ago on a very tight budget. I still dream of taking a Volkswagon van on an extended trip - just 65 more to see or maybe it's 965 :)

Have a wonderful day!!

  1. Wow! This seems like a lot of pressure . . . but it would be good pressure . . . to see how many of these you could visit. What fun! I think you've seen many more than I have, Alana!

  2. I have so many places that I need to see yet and countries to visit, not to mention foods to try. I think trying foods might be easier :)

  3. Although I think building my list might frustrate me, I do think it would be fun and help me focus on just WHERE to go should the opportunity arise!

  4. I've been to only 39 which as a relatively well travelled person surprised me. But then I looked at the UK venues. Winchester Cathedral? Sorry, I don't want to offend anyone from Winchester, heck I was brought up round the corner. But if you had to chose a UK Cathedral I think Winchester would be fairly low on the list.
