We ended up spending a lot of time in the Trastevere area of Rome. The name means across the river and it is literally across the river from a lot of the main attractions and the somewhat pricier restaurants. This time we used a guide book that we found in the apartment and decided to go to a restaurant listed in there. It wasn't duplicated in any of the other guides, so I had my fingers crossed.
We took a Taxi to the Piazza di Santa Cecilia, looked at the restaurant and decided to pass. It really seemed a little run down. There were about 3 or 4 other trattorias in the area and one was very nice, so we stayed. My husband ordered the fixed price fish menu of 3 courses and I ordered the fixed price meat menu, also 3 courses - both cost 18.00 euros each. The kids just ordered here and there. Everything was delicious.

The first courses were pastas.

Pasts First Course |
This is a seafood pasta.
For the main (second) course, I had grilled pork, my husband had grilled bream and my daughter had grilled chicken with grilled vegetables. A whole lot of grilling going on :)

It was a lovely evening. After the meal, the kids went out to do a little more exploring and we came home. Tomorrow is our last day in Rome. It's very sad to leave, but I am looking forward to our stay in Cinque Terre. I am not sure how often, I'll be able to post. I'll have to figure out where the wifi is first.
I will also respond to other posts. I've just been a little tight for time. My husband is a bit of a Luddite and thinks that holidays are periods of time away from the computer. There's four of us and three computers. We my have convinced him to get a MAC for our next vacation, just so that he can have something that communicates with him :)
Have a great day!!
